One of the most eagerly awaited moments for the entire legion of Zurbaraners has arrived!
We are thrilled to unveil the official t-shirt for the 2025 edition.

Once again, the design is the work of local artist Diego Fercué, who has masterfully captured the spirit of Zurbarán Rock Burgos—fusing music and heritage.

This year, the spotlight is on one of the most iconic figures of Burgos: the Papamoscas.

“Every hour on the dot, for centuries, a strange yet endearing figure has come to life high atop the Burgos Cathedral. It’s the Papamoscas, the wide-eyed automaton with a hinged jaw that surprises anyone who looks up at just the right moment. By his side, faithful and tireless, stands his assistant Martinillo, together marking the passage of time. They are part of the city’s collective imagination—mechanical guardians of Burgos’ rhythm.
But this year, something has changed.
They say the Papamoscas, after centuries of watching from above, has heard the call of rock. Tired of the endless passing of hours marked only by chimes and tourist whispers, he’s made a bold decision: to leap. Not out of rebellion, but out of passion. From his lofty hideout, he’s seen the crowds gather year after year to celebrate music with intensity, soul, camaraderie, and a force that shakes even the stone walls.
And so, in this edition of Zurbarán Rock Burgos, the Papamoscas takes center stage. On the front of the t-shirt, we see him as never before: emerging boldly, leaning forward, defying his fate of metal and gears. On the back, his figure dives into the crowd in a daring leap of faith—surrendering to the call of Zurbarán Rock Burgos and the electrifying energy of the masses.
This year, the Papamoscas doesn’t just strike the hour—he takes the leap. Because in Burgos, even the oldest legends, when they hear great rock, feel the urge to come down from their pedestal… and join the collective passion of Heavy Metal.”
