Zurbarán Rock Burgos, is a non-profit festival of Heavy/Rock music that was born in the Zurbarán neighbourhood of the city of Burgos in 2016, with the spirit of spreading music and therefore culture to the citizens for free.
In the first edition, it started from a modest project, both in terms of artistic production and infrastructure and projection of the participating bands, all of them with great quality, but of local recognition only.

It was in the third edition (year 2018), when the City Council of Burgos, was interested in the format and philosophy of Zurbarán Rock, proposing to the non-profit Cultural Association METAL CASTELLAE, promoter of the event, the integration of the festival in the main festivities of San Pedro and San Pablo.
In the 4th edition (2019), it changed its location to the San Agustín Park. On an artistic level, there were 7 bands, recognised in different geographical areas: local, national and international.

With the arrival of Pandemic, the festival does not stop, but transforms and adapts to the situation, generating 2 special orchestral editions, in which we could enjoy great classics of the golden age of Heavy Rock, with Barcelona Rock Strings, string quintet in 2021.
In 2022, once restrictions are limited, a full string orchestra.

In the year 2022, once the health restrictions have been removed, the traditional format of Zurbarán Rock Burgos returns, and it does so in a format extended to 2 days, preserving its free and open-air character. A total of 11 bands, of great prestige and recognition, again from various geographical areas, including once again local, incorporating the band selected for the Las Candelas Zurbarán Rock Burgos 2020 festival.
The year 2023 marked the consecration of the current model of festival, free, open-air, 2-day and fully integrated into the city.
